Senior Thesis Part 1: Promotional Illustrations

Each 'poster' represents each one of my brands I created for my recently completed senior thesis. They were meant as promotional illustrations to showcase the products I designed in each brand along with their respective logos.

First up is Jet-Setter, a brand for jet-setting women who want to look good while traveling. The brand also includes a line of suitcases and travel bags;

Next is La Gourmande, a French-pastry inspired brand for young women. Most of the apparel brand is composed of dresses, sleep-wear and accessories;

Lastly is an illustration for the brand, Gatinha that means cute female cat in Portuguese and has a double meaning that is beautiful girl. This brand was inspired by fashion from my hometown, Sao Paulo. Casual but cute, Gatinha also has a line of accessories;

Next step for this project since graduation has come and gone is to make some paperdolls with the line's outfits and accessories. Stay tuned for that as well as vectors of the products! (once I clean up the files more)

A Sneak Peak into my Thesis

Here are some samples from my thesis, so you can all take a look at my progress. The first brand is La Gourmande which plays on a food/bakery theme for the clothes and packaging. Still a bit to go but here are samples from that line. Also let it be known I have begun ordering fabric samples of my patterns. So some of these designs might go into production and maybe even on sale during the end of the year thesis show ;) ! I'm excited about the possibilities, but for now simply enjoy the samples;

A review of what already has been done with my pastry pattern and some additions to the family;

This next brand is still a work in progress but here are the first patterns I created with some clothing samples. A lot more to come!

These patterns make the little jet plane logo more apparent;

My final chef girl model. Been meaning to post this up for awhile now. Might still tweak smaller details but for the most part this is what it will look like.

Progress on zBrush character

My little p√Ętissi√®re is progressing pretty well, soon to be finished! But as you can all see, I still have quite a few edits to make and things to add. I have yet to add her cake tray, chef hat and scarf. More to come soon!

Completed Senior Portrait

The finished version of my senior self-portrait for the thesis show poster! I'm quite pleased with how it came out. I added my old one on the bottom just for fun. I like seeing how pieces improve and how my skills evolve.

WIP self-portrait

Re-working my senior self-portrait for the Senior Illustration show. So far its a work in progress. With this piece I really just wanted to go back to painting digitally since I've been concentrating so much on design rather than illustration. This was a nice and fun change.

An unconventional pattern

Not many people see snakes as feminine or stylish. After hearing that in a presentation on campus, I took this as a personal challenge to create a girly pattern with snakes. I paired it with lotus flowers to try and make it work. I sketched out some ideas in acrylic and scanned those into photoshop to play around with. These are my first results. More variations soon to come! Next I'll be putting it on some products to see how flexible this pattern can be.

zBrush work-in-progess sculpts and concepts

My first full zBrush head sculpt. I have to admit I thought I would struggle with the program but so far I find it really fun and so far no big issues! Anyway I'd like to continue improving the character head's hair but overall its completed. This character head belongs to Victoria my original character who is a snooty Edwardian-era school mistress.

Here follows the work-in-progress head and body sculpts I'm preparing for a full character figure. This is a clumsy chef character from some illustrations I did awhile back. I re-added them at the bottom so you can see where my inspiration came from and where this sculpt is headed;

My characters sketches I put up earlier (I edited quite a few details to make them more portfolio ready) for the zBrush character I'm sculpting;
